Steel Casting Foundry Division

• 300 kg (175 KW), 1500 kg, 2000 kg and 3000 kg (750 KW) Crucible Inductotherm Induction Furnace — with Dual Track facility.

• Complete facilities for moulding & core making with a no-bake system (OMEGA) in sand casting, with 5 Ton knockout and reclamation facility & core oven.

• Single piece casting weight ranging from 50 to 4300 kg.
• 350 Tons monthly; 4200 Tons per annum (installed capacity).

• Pattern shop facility for manufacturing and handling of patterns in both Wooden and Aluminium material grades.
• Periodical maintenance and storage of patterns.
• Magma 5.5 simulation to ensure casting solidification and soundness.

• 5 Ton capacity Electric Furnace.
• 4.5 Ton capacity Electric Furnace — automated, with Quenching and Tempering facility.
• 3 Ton capacity Electric Furnace.
• Furnaces with paperless chart recorder & calibrated as per API Spec 6A & 6D requirements.

A dedicated in-house lab facility and qualified inspectors are in service at our Foundry.

Sand Testing

• Grain size / AFS Number, Clay and Moisture testing equipment.

Chemical Testing

• Spectro (Spectro Maxx) with 34 elements and 5 base materials (Fe, Ni, Cu, Co & Al).
• Universal Testing Machine equipped with electronic extensometer.
• Wet Analysis Lab.
• Microstructure Testing.
• Corrosion Test — outsourced, NABL.

Mechanical Testing

• Hardness Testing Machine — 3000 kg load, motorized.
• 40 Ton computerized Universal Testing Machine with electronic extensometer.
• Impact Testing Machine — ASTM & EN (impact testing temperature down to −196 °C).
• Rad check meter for checking radioactive contamination / radiation.

• Magnetic Particle Inspection — Wet & Dry type.
• Dye Penetrant Testing.
• Ultrasonic (UT) Testing.
• Dedicated outsourced Radiography Inspection — IR192 and Cobalt-60 sources.

LRT Foundry LAB is accredited in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 — NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories) for Chemical, Mechanical and NDT (MPI & PT).
